“By the time, our addicted loved one enters treatment, a lot of damage has occurred. The rebuilding process is not quick and easy. There is a lot of trust that needs to be earned back. The process begins with getting completely honest. After honest communication occurs, the healing can begin to happen. It is magical, seeing families develop healthy relationships again. When your child leaves for a treatment center, as a parent, you are relieved, hopeful, fearful, doubtful, and full of uncertainty. You want to know how your child is being treated, what the facility is like, what your child is doing all day, and the list goes on and on.
Our family workshops help soothe these anxieties.
I attended my son’s workshop. It was a valuable and key part of the recovery process. You get to know and understand each other again. You are educated about the disease of addiction, sobriety, triggers, codependency and enabling. You do this with your child and other families going through the same painful experiences. You learn that so many others are just like you. You form a much-needed support system with these families. You are able to watch your child bond, help and encourage other residents. At the Blueprints workshop, you get to know your child again. A new relationship begins with understanding, patience, and hope. All those questions and doubts that you had when you left your child behind and pulled away will start to be answered. In addition to intense sessions, there is some quiet, quality time to be alone with your child to start working on your mutual recovery and get to know each other again. In the end, when the program is over, you feel great pride in your child and those you have come to know and love while attending this workshop. “
“The Blueprints’ Workshop allows you to be a part of the recovery, to see what is done on a daily basis, and to meet the people who are with your child when you cannot be there.”
